Alivia's Big News!!!

I am going to be a BIG SISTER!!!

Yes, that is right Alivia is going to be the big sister this coming Spring. We are all very excited and happy to share this news. Right now I don't think she has any idea what is happening which is fine, but when that baby comes home I think she might have an opinion.

At first we cried a little bit.


Then after is sank in we did our happy dance and are very excited..... Mom and baby are doing well!

Date Night!

Clint and I were lucky to get a kid free night. We attended an awards event for Clint's work. It was a lot of fun to get dressed up and feel pretty for the night. We headed down town to the Depot and then after it was over we went to Seven for free drinks and sushi for the night. It was a lot of fun!

My little love bug changes every day. One day she was my little baby and the next she is her own little person. I love the fact that she can reason with me or tell no when she is not happy. All of a sudden we need choices for meals and snacks. I guess I can't control her daily activities anymore.

She surprises me each and every day with new words or faces she comes up with. One of her new pass times is to walk around with a notebook and pen babbling to herself. I guess she takes after me and is starting to become my little list maker. Alivia also has her eye teeth coming in and she is starting to look more and more like a little vampire with the fangs.

Alivia also enjoys taking out all her clothes and attemping to put them on. She must enjoy doing it with mom and dads clothes to because every once in a while she will come down the hallway with a pair of underwear or a bra around her neck. Hey in our family we really push self expression.... Got to love her!

Football weekend!

What a weekend!!! We packed the car up and left MN by 3pm on Friday to finally make it to grandma and grandpa's house around 7:45pm. Alivia did great! We colored, read books and put stickers in our sticker book. By the time we got to IA it was bedtime for Alivia since we were getting up early to head to the Iowa vs ISU game.
We had a really good time. Ate a lot of food and sweated out pants off in the heat. Alivia did a lot of walking around and enjoyed visiting with all the other tailgaters.

This is so much fun!!!!

After a long day of tailgating the next day we just hung out and relaxed. Alivia and Grandma did some jumping on the trampoline which she just loved. She also loves this old blue car that Clint used to play in when he was little.

On our way home after a perfect weekend. Nothing like a little coloring in the car to past time.

Labor Day Weekend

This past Labor day weekend we packed in a lot of fun things for our family. We headed off to the beach for the day and had a so much fun playing in the sand. Clint tried to get Alivia in the water, but it was pretty cold. On Monday we decided to be brave and take Alivia out on her first paddle boat ride. All I can say it was interesting. Clint did most of the paddling while I tried to keep the snacks flowing and the big old life vest out of her way. I guess you can call it another adventure for the Varleys.

A little windy. Poor Clint looks like he is about to sneeze and Alivia looks like she could be filling her pants. To bad neither are true. I think it's just bad timing.

Big day at Valley Fair!

Last week we all headed to Valley Fair with the three kids and my sister and mom. We had a wonderful time and I think the kids like it too. All three kids were able to ride on a lot of rides. I think Alivia might have enjoyed herself the most. There were times I had to convince Alivia we were going to go on other rides just so she would get off the on she was on.

A day with my cousins!

On Monday Alivia spent the morning with her cousins. The spent part of the morning working on this house they built with blocks. I guess you could say Jack did most of the construction and the girls just either got in the way or argued. It is so fun to watch them interact now that they are getting older. Jack does pretty good being the only boy and having such two strong headed girls around him. Alivia and Presley have started fighting back and forth and it's really funny. Presley will get mad at Alivia and push her and Alivia will scream on the top of her lungs and wave her hands in her face. I guess it's a glimpse of what the future holds.
