Year 2 down

Another year down in soccer.  Can't say it was our favorite part of the week for Alivia.  She just wasn't in to soccer this year which is completely fine.  I am all about letting my kids choose activities and try everything.  She is only just turned 4 and has the rest of her childhood to find her match.  About half way into soccer we broke our arm which made it not fun to go anymore.  Then we found our love for tennis and swimming so it really wasn't that fun to go to.  No matter what Clint and I support our kids and just want them to enjoy being a kid for now and not feel like we are pushing them to do anything.
I think Alivia is pretty excited for school and dance to start since she asks all the time when she is going.  We are having so much fun this summer playing outside, relaxing, swimming A LOT and enjoying life together.  Also, baby brother will be here in 9 weeks or less and the girls are so excited for the new baby!

Ella my little no fear lady.  This girls has been jumping into the pool since last summer.  At least this year she can finally swim and we don't go flying in after her.  She has become such the fish this past month and since we are at the pool most of the week I knew this would happen.  From day one she has said "my self" when we are in the pool so we finally let her go by herself and this is what has happened.  It's so fun to watch them grow up and learn new things...

Varley dance party

The other morning after breakfast the girls were in the kitchen on the Ipad.  I came in after putting laundry away to a little music and two girls just jamming to their music.  Hope it puts a smile on your face as it did mine!!!

28 weeks

Once again I am behind in doing this.  I can't believe I only have 3 months left till this little boy arrives.  We are so excited for him to join our family and see what he brings to our lives.  I have been feeling great!  I still am running and doing what we do here at the Varley household.  Last week I had to get my shot for being RH negative which means I am a special person that has special blood:)  Otherwise things are going well and  just ready for the summer and our little boy to come.
Also, many people keep asking me if I feel the same or look the same with the girls to now.  I have felt the same and judge for your self on what the belly looks like.  No judgement on how I look in some of these.  I should have looked a little nicer this time around I guess...

So about the same being it is my third time around.  I think I might be carrying this one a little higher than the girls...

Zoo Day

We spent the day at the zoo on Alivia's actual birthday.  She got to pick the whole day out and the zoo is where we started.  We had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful weather we have had.
Ella doing a little dance while waiting for the Dolphin show
Sister's hanging in the bear cave
One big bear according to Ella
Alivia keeping a close eye on the bear and waiting for the mom to move
 more bear watching
 Alivia in the tractor
Ella in the cow barn.  We couldn't pass up checking the cows out.
We also got to take some time to play in the water.  Even with a broken arm we can still have some summer fun.

My silly girls.

Dance, dance, dance

This year of dance has come to an end and I couldn't be more happy with the year.  Alivia had such a good time in dance and made some good friends.  This could be something she really is into which is great to see.  All year long she always asked what day it was so she new when dance day was coming.  I love to see my girls find something they enjoy!
Last day of class and her teacher gave the girls a certificate of completion and a rose of their choice.
Getting ready for the big recital
Don't mind the smile in the rest of the pictures.  When Alivia wears lipstick she can't smile normal she does this "I can't move my mouth smile and talk"
The drop off area for the kids before the show
Alivia and Presley (don't worry I didn't spike Alivia's juice before the show)
Her teacher talking to the girls before the recital starts
A little cousin love

I will post the video of Alivia's dance once I get a copy of it.  There was no cameras allowed, but Paul got some good video of their dance...

Happy 4th birthday Alivia!!

I can't even believe that it has been 4 years since I gave birth to my little girl down in Ames Iowa.  It seems just like yesterday when I found out I was pregnant with her.  These past four years have truly been an honor as a mother to raise her.  Alivia is the sweetest, most caring and loving little girl with a silly girly princess attitude.  I wouldn't change her for the world.  We love her more and more everyday and have slowly watch her grow into a respectable girl who can't wait to be a big sister again.  Thank you Alivia for making my life more enriched and special everyday!

So not so happy Monday to the Varley household.  Today Alivia was being such a nice big sister and offered to go get Ella her baby Cinderella from the basement.  I was making breakfast and all of a sudden heard and thump and then Alivia scream for me.  I looked over the railing and saw her laying head down with her feet laying up on the two bottom stairs while holding her arm.  I quickly ran down and carried her up to the couch as the tears came down.  After about 10 minutes of figuring out what to do and calling the doctor we headed in to the pediatrician.  When we got there they took x-rays and asked her to do different things with her arm and by then she was moving is all around so we though it might be fine and just sore.  After the x-ray the doctor came in and said is was broken and we then headed down to Children's to get the doctors to check it out and put the cast on.  Alivia was awesome and the only things she was worried about was going to Florida with a cast which we don't go till January and how the cast smelled.  She is such a trooper and is starting to figure out how to manage with this cast and using her left hand for a while.

Sisters

Since Alivia has started school last year she has really taken to being a teacher at home.  It's so funny to watch her play school at home with Ella and her dolls.  She loves to read to her pretend class or anyone that will listen or she teaches songs from the fireplace mantel.  Ella is such a good sport to play along most of the time.
